Contemporary Entertainment Furniture

I had a very particular client on this project - my wife!  Seriously, I had a lot of fun designing and building this dark stained quarter-sawn white oak entertainment center.  A 50” TV hangs on the arched backer that lines up perfectly with the pedestal below the base cabinet.  The left and right channel speakers are symmetrical to the TV and located behind the black cloth covered panels in the base cabinet.  The center channel speaker panel looks like an extension of the TV (click on the TV for a closer view).  A vertical pilaster appears to go right through the center of the drawer bank and supports two cantilevered glass shelves.  The header is mitered where it intersects the pilaster and houses low-voltage lights controlled by a hidden touch dimmer.  I am enjoying this in my own living room!
